Pollica triumphs as the most beautiful seaside resort in Italy, winning the Cinque Vele (Five Sails) award in the "Il Mare più bello 2024" guide by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club.
The Cilento municipality, with its hamlets of Acciaroli and Pioppi, took first place in a ranking that recognizes landscape excellence and commitment to environmental protection.
Nardò in Puglia and Baunei in Sardinia ranked second and third respectively, followed by Domus de Maria in Sardinia and Castiglione della Pescaia in Tuscany.
Campania shines with 35 locations present in the guide, among which San Giovanni a Piro stands out, castellabate and San Mauro Cilento, also awarded the Cinque Vele.

New this year, the guide also recognizes 33 sea turtle-friendly municipalities. Among these, 12 towns in Campania (Pollica, San Giovanni a Piro, Castellabate, San Mauro Cilento, Pisciotta, Agropoli, Ascea, Capaccio-Paestum, Camerota, Sapri, Casal Velino, and Cetara) have distinguished themselves for their commitment to protecting the loggerhead sea turtle, adopting measures to safeguard their habitats and sustainable beach management.
