Teora. Trouble is brewing for the head of the Teora Municipal Planning Office and the company responsible for building the town's school complex, funded by the Province of Avellino. Both are under investigation for alleged irregularities in the management of the project, including accusations of inflating costs by falsely certifying the supply of goods and services in excess of their actual value.
Avellino's Chief Prosecutor, Domenico Airoma, requested and obtained from the investigating judge the precautionary seizure of 90 euros from the suspects, with the aim of confiscating the contested sum at the conclusion of the investigation.
The investigations, conducted by Carabinieri, they hypothesize that the defendant, in his capacity as the person responsible for the proceedings, falsely certified the supply of goods and services in excess of those actually used, while the company issued invoices for undue amounts.
The seizure represents the first step toward determining responsibility and protecting the public resources used to build the school complex. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments are expected in the coming weeks.
The incident raises concerns about the management of public funds earmarked for public works and reiterates the importance of rigorous controls to prevent potential wrongdoing.
