In Pontecagnano Faiano the Carabinieri of the local station together with those of Giffoni Sei Casali arrested a man accused of extortion. Together with another person, reported at large, the man allegedly forced a 47-year-old, whose wallet had been stolen days before, to hand over money to get it back.
The intervention of the Carabinieri
The joint operation of the Carabinieri of Pontecagnano Faiano and Giffoni Sei Casali led to the arrest of the alleged extortionist. During the investigation, the police were able to identify and arrest one of the two men involved in the criminal act, while the second accomplice was reported at large.
According to the investigators' reconstruction, the criminals stole the wallet from the victim, a 47-year-old man, days before his arrest.
Subsequently, the two, using the technique of return horse, they would have contacted the man to ask him for money in exchange for the return of the stolen wallet. Under threat, the victim was forced to give in to the blackmail
