It was a quiet day at the beach in Pozzuoli, and despite the earthquake tremors of the night before, the beaches were crowded with customers looking for entertainment and relief from the intense heat, when a pregnant woman began to experience severe abdominal pain.
Things took an unexpected turn when she realized her waters had broken: labor was imminent.
Early in the morning, the woman sought refuge in a cabin on a beach. With the help of some bystanders, she faced the labor and gave birth to a baby girl, who was later named Rebecca.

When the 118 ambulance arrived, both mother and baby were still attached by the umbilical cord. Despite the traumatic event, both were doing well.
The mother and daughter were promptly rescued and transported to Santa Maria delle Grazie Hospital, where they were treated and monitored to ensure everything was proceeding as expected.
