The Province of Benevento has issued a formal notice to the concessionaires for the construction of the Naples-Bari high-capacity railway line to restore the provincial roads that allow heavy goods vehicles to access the numerous construction sites along the Telesina Valley up to the border with Irpinia. This was announced by Provincial Administration President Nino Lombardi.
The initiative was born following numerous reports from private citizens, institutions, and provincial councilors, after the President himself conducted inspections of the road network and obtained reports from technicians from the Province's Infrastructure Department. "The President of the Province of Benevento," Lombardi stated, "acknowledges that the heavy mechanical and transport vehicles operating on the High-Capacity Railway construction sites Napoli - Bari, using the connecting provincial roads, do not appear to adopt all the necessary and due precautions to ensure that the roads are not damaged by their transit and their loads.
Furthermore, it has been noted that even some of the debris from the skips often falls onto the asphalt. It's hardly necessary to emphasize the seriousness of the situation, which is confirmed by numerous users and representatives of the institutions who daily use the provincial network serving the municipalities of Dugenta, Amorosi, Telese Terme, Castelvenere, Guardia Sanframondi, San Lorenzo Maggiore, Solopaca, Ponte, and Apice.
