This morning the Carabinieri of the Qualiano station reported a 24-year-old local woman for abandoning a polling station without legitimate reason.
The young woman, employed as a scrutineer at a polling station in the town, left her post yesterday evening and never returned, initially providing unfounded justifications.
Initially, the scrutineer tried to justify her absence with reasons not supported by any evidence.
However, after some time, the young woman admitted that she had abandoned the polling station because the salary she would have been offered for the role of scrutineer was too low.
This gesture, considered irresponsible and in conflict with the duties of those who occupy such a position, led to a complaint by the local authorities.
Leaving a polling station without a legitimate excuse is a crime, and the 24-year-old will now face the legal consequences of her behavior.
