The Carabinieri of the Rione Traiano station, assisted by colleagues from the San Marco Argentano Carabinieri Company, arrested a man and a woman, aged 34 and 37 respectively, accused of robbery.
The incident dates back to January 8, 2023, when the two criminals snatched the bag from a 43-year-old woman who was walking on Via Arno, in the municipality of Spezzano Albanese in the province of Cosenza, with a friend.
The investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples, allowed the culprits to be identified thanks to video surveillance footage that captured the vehicle used for the rapina and an attempted withdrawal with the ATM card stolen from the victim. The woman later recognized the two criminals during a photographic comparison.
Recognized by the victim
The man was located in Calabria, at a community where he was under house arrest for another crime. The two arrested were taken to the prisons of Benevento (the woman) and Castrovillari (the man).
