Afragola. The Carabinieri of the Afragola Station, assisted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, have defeated a dangerous gang of robbers that was rampant in the area.
Yesterday, June 24, three individuals were arrested, seriously suspected of criminal association aimed at robberies.
The arrested individuals are accused of carrying out the robbery that took place on May 13th at the "Auri Tempore" jewelry store inside the "Le Porte di Napoli" shopping center in Afragola.
They had planned other coups
Furthermore, they were ready to strike again: they had planned another attack for the morning of June 24th, targeting a jewelry store inside the "Piccolo" supermarket in Pomigliano d'Arco. The plan was foiled by the timely intervention of the Carabinieri.
In addition to the robberies, those arrested are also accused of receiving stolen goods, possession and carrying of an illegal firearm.

The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri Station of Afragola and directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, have allowed the gang's modus operandi to be reconstructed. thieves They put a meticulous plan into action for each coup:
- Accurate inspections to identify the location of video surveillance cameras and escape routes.
Use of stolen cars (usually Fiat Pandas) as means of transportation during robberies, preceded by a "clean" car (found to be registered to the wife of one of those arrested) to act as a relay.
Procurement of fake weapons (including two pistols and a Kalashnikov AK-47) and silicone masks to hide their faces.
A robber on day release
The investigation revealed that one of the robbers took part in the attacks while on day release from Pescara prison, where he was serving a sentence for similar crimes.
The three arrested were identified thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras and the comparison of the fingerprints found at the crime scene with those present in the database.
On the morning of June 24, the Carabinieri stopped the criminals as they were preparing to commit yet another robbery in Pomigliano d'Arco. Given the gang's dangerous nature, the risk of escape, and the risk of repeating the crime, the Public Prosecutor's Office of North Naples issued an arrest warrant against them.
At the end of the formal procedures, the arrested were locked up in the Naples Poggioreale prison.
