Naples. A meeting was held yesterday at the Prefecture of Naples to review the agreement for the restoration of the cultural heritage of the Fund for Buildings of Worship (FEC) in Campania.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prefect Gaetano Cupello, saw the participation of representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Prefectures of Naples and Avellino, the Interregional Office for Public Works and the competent Superintendencies.
Among the main points discussed:
Project Approval: The process for the approval of some executive projects by the Public Works Department and the acquisition of opinions from the Superintendencies has been completed. The restoration work on these churches will begin in July.
Progress: The progress of all the projects foreseen by the agreement was reviewed, which concern 33 places of worship (11 in the province of Avellino, 8 in the metropolitan area of Naples and 14 in the city of Naples) and 2 bell towers.
Specific issues: Issues relating to individual ongoing project activities were examined, with the aim of promoting collaboration between the various administrations involved.

Work begins: Restoration work on the churches, with plans already approved, will begin in July.
Monitoring: The progress of all projects under the agreement will continue to be monitored.
Collaboration: The administrations involved will continue to collaborate to ensure the success of all interventions.

In the province of Avellino: 11 places of worship to be defined.
In the metropolitan area of Naples: Church of Sant'Antonio in Portici, Church of the Madonna dell'Arco in Sant'Anastasia, Church of San Francesco in Sorrento and 8 other places of worship to be defined.
