Castellammare di Stabia. Emanuele D'Apice, former president of the Castellammare di Stabia City Council, can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Naples Court of Appeals has overturned his ineligibility for office, acquitting him of charges of ineligibility following the dissolution of the city council for Camorra infiltration.

"My heartfelt thanks to the magistrates," D'Apice declared, "who shed complete clarity and dispelled the suspicions that a certain political faction had raised against me with the aim of dissolving the City Council. These have been difficult months, during which I have endured unfounded attacks and slanderous accusations. But the truth has finally emerged."

The former City Council president didn't spare a jab at his detractors, accusing them of exploiting the fight against the Camorra for political gain. "Unlike certain journalists and anti-Camorra professionals," he added, "who build their electoral victories on attacks on political opponents and defamation, the magistrates have worked diligently to establish the truth."

Condemnation to the Ministry and a look to the future

The Court of Appeal also ordered the Ministry to pay the legal costs. D'Apice, who is now awaiting the ruling, expressed his desire to move on and look to the future.

"I'm ready to start again - he concluded - and to put my skills at the service of my city. Castellammare It needs unity and honest, capable people to recover. I'm here and I'll do my part."
