The City Council has given the green light to the resolution for the withdrawal of approximately 250 thousand euros from the reserve fund for the removal of waste in the basement of Vela D, known as the “Red Vela”, located in Scampia between Viale della Resistenza and Via Antonio Labriola.
The proposal, put forward by Heritage Councillor Pierpaolo Baretta, aims to prevent the risk of damaging events, such as the fire that recently hit Vela C. This intervention, considered extremely urgent, represents the first step towards the implementation of the major project "Restart Scampia: from the urban margin to the centre of the metropolitan area," an initiative with a total value of nearly 27 million euros.
Waste remediation is essential to proceed with the subsequent design and execution phases of the project, which aims to redevelop the entire area. The goal is to transform Scampia From a marginal area to a vital center of the Naples metropolitan area, improving the quality of life of residents and revitalizing the neighborhood through structural and social interventions.
