In view of the upcoming summer season, the State Police has intensified controls in Salerno.
The patrols carried out a series of checks in the areas of the Trieste seafront, focusing on drug dealing and, in the evening hours, on the consumption of alcoholic beverages, often the cause of fights.
The activity included the identification of people, also aimed at countering illegal immigration, verifying in particular the administrative status of foreigners regarding their stay in Italy.
In the last week, there have been controlled hundreds of people. Three illegal parking attendants were reported in the city center for violating the urban Daspo, two foreign citizens for theft in a commercial establishment, and an Italian citizen for evading house arrest.
A man found with counterfeit banknotes was also reported
In addition, a man was hit with a mandatory expulsion order following a complaint for spending counterfeit money. Checks will continue in the coming days on a regular basis.
