Salerno. Blitz against illegal gambling and betting in the municipalities of Vallo di Diano and Cilento.

During a joint operation to combat illegal and irregular gambling, the Guardia di Finanza (Fiamme Gialle) of the Salerno Provincial Command, in collaboration with officials from the Salerno Monopolies Office, seized three gaming machines and imposed fines totaling €3.

The operation was conducted by soldiers from the Compagnia di Vallo della Lucania, assisted by personnel from the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM), who carried out checks at several betting shops and gaming halls in Cilento.

In particular, the investigations brought to light the presence, in a bar, of 3 gaming machines (known as "video Newslot" or "AWP") made available to customers without the prohibited games table being displayed, as required by current legislation.

Furthermore, it was discovered that the games contained cards that were not installed according to the technical rules established by law.

Specifically, the connections between the game board and the other components of the device were not insulated by a metal cover, as was required to ensure the fairness of the game and prevent deception of users.

For these violations, administrative fines totaling €60 were imposed on the business owner and the owner of the games. The cards inside the Newslot machines, the authorization documents, and the proceeds found inside the machines (approximately €1.500) were also seized.

Finally, the business owner was reported to the Vallo della Lucania Public Prosecutor's Office for failing to display informational signs.

This operation demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Italian Financial Police and the Customs and Monopolies Agency to protecting players, combating illegal, unsafe, and unsecured gambling, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups, such as minors.

The collaboration between the two institutions, strengthened by the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, represents a fundamental element in safeguarding citizens and promoting legal and responsible gaming.
