Motorcycle collision in Torre Annunziata: 26-year-old boy dies

The sad list of road deaths does not stop. In fact, last night in Torre Annunziata there was yet another road accident with deaths and injuries.

This time, Luigi Gara, a 26-year-old boy, lost his life. He arrived at the hospital in Castellammare di Stabia in desperate conditions and died immediately after admission.

Three other young people are hospitalized in serious conditions between the Ospedale del Mare and the Cardarelli in Naples.

From the first investigations it clash The collision between the two motorcycles occurred in the port area at high speed and the four occupants were thrown dozens of metres away.

One of the injured is in a coma

Of the three injured, the most seriously injured is in a coma and in danger of life. All are between 18 and 25 years old and are hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.

The Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the case, entrusted to officers from the Oplonti police station, who have already conducted the necessary investigations and purchased some footage from security cameras in the area.

Mayoral candidate Cuccurullo cancels closure of electoral campaign

The centre-left candidate for mayor Corrado Cuccurullo also intervened on the case (in Torre Annunziata the run-off election will take place on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June): "I, along with my coalition, express my deepest sympathy for the families of the young people involved in last night's tragic road accident, which is affecting our entire community," a statement released to the press reads.

"Out of respect for this profound sorrow," Cuccurullo continued, "the closing rally of our electoral campaign, scheduled for today at 20:30 PM in the town hall, has been cancelled."
