Rome, 25 June – ''Today is an important day here in the Chamber of Deputies where attention has been placed on one of the rare diseases, systemic sclerosis, and on the importance of physiotherapy.

Thanks to the Asmara association and Ails for the invitation to OFI Lazio and for having drawn attention to a winning and virtuous model that is that of the ASL Roma 2 for the care and treatment of patients with systemic sclerosis''.

This was stated by the president of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio, Annamaria Servadio, on the sidelines of the conference 'Systemic Sclerosis after law 175/2021: patients meet the institutions and reference centers to represent their real needs', hosted today in the Giacomo Matteotti Room of the Chamber of Deputies.

''Probably - he continued - physiotherapy is still not included enough in these paths. The ASL Roma 2 model is a winning model also for physiotherapy but it is not enough. The order of physiotherapists of Lazio is next, obviously, to the patients but with the aim of supporting, for example, the training of professionals.

This is an extremely complex disease where you can't improvise and where the time has come to make available all those actions useful to facilitate the entry of patients into physiotherapy: therefore accessibility of care, equity of access to care''.

"In the Lazio region - Servadio highlighted - we still have a huge problem with the inclusion of physiotherapy, for example, in the Pac not only for rare diseases but also for chronic diseases. There is still a lot of work to do but this is a winning model, of sharing and results that have been obtained thanks certainly to the tenacity of the head of the Pdta, Dr. Antonella Marcoccia''.

''The Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio - concluded Annamaria Servadio - has today strengthened important alliances with the Order of Physicians of Rome for shared training in rare diseases, for the protection of citizens' health and to be alongside the many health professionals who take up the challenge of fighting these diseases every day''.
