Ischia. Moments of fear at Rizzoli Hospital in Lacco Ameno, Ischia, where the partial collapse of the false ceiling in the entrance hall occurred this afternoon.
The accident was caused by the collapse of a heavy air conditioning unit that suddenly detached from its anchors, dragging a portion of the false ceiling and some pipes with it.
Fortunately, only two people were slightly injured: a patient who was hit by some plasterboard fragments and a pregnant woman who was rescued because of the fright.
As a precaution, three rooms in the Surgery Department were temporarily evacuated and patients transferred to other departments.
