On the night between Monday and Tuesday, Somma Vesuviana was abruptly awakened by a series of gunshots. The Naples Carabinieri responded promptly to Via Cupa di Nola 44 after receiving a report of gunfire. Upon arriving, they found seven .32 caliber shell casings scattered on the ground near a residence where the gunfire had occurred.
According to initial reconstructions, the shots were fired in the early hours of the night. Some witnesses reported hearing a series of shooting in quick succession, followed by an eerie silence. There are no injuries so far, but the incident has raised serious concerns about local security.
Law enforcement immediately launched an investigation to clarify the dynamics and causes of the incident. Investigators are examining several hypotheses. Currently, no leads have been ruled out, and the Carabinieri are gathering all possible information to reconstruct the events.
