The controls of the Labor Inspectorate (ITL) of Avellino-Benevento in the beach resort sector have been intensified.
During an extraordinary surveillance operation carried out over the past weekend, inspectors, together with the Carabinieri of the Benevento Labor Inspectorate (NIL), inspected three facilities: a swimming pool and two beach resorts located on a lake.
The checks revealed a worrying situation of irregular work: 16 out of 34 workers found employed were found to be undeclared. Among them, a non-EU citizen without a residence permit.
In light of these serious violations, the ITL issued two orders suspending business activity for undeclared work. In addition, several requirements have been notified to ensure the safety of workers in the inspected workplaces.
The inspection operation is part of the Avellino-Benevento ITL's efforts to combat undeclared and irregular work, which it focuses on in the tourism sector, especially during the summer months, when the number of workers employed increases.
The goal is to protect workers' rights and ensure fair competition between companies, combating phenomena such as exploitation and exclusion from fundamental labor rights.
