Stillafest at the Pertosa-Auletta Caves: an event between archaeology, philosophy and science

### Countdown to Stillafest

All set for Stillafest, the first National Festival of Science, Environment and Philosophy of Water, entitled “The drop that loves the rock”. The event will be held at the Pertosa-Auletta caves from 7 to 9 June and is organized by the cultural association Stilla. The festival enjoys the patronage of numerous institutions, including the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno, the Municipality of Pertosa, the Mida Foundation, the Association of Italian Tourist Caves and many other important bodies and associations in the environmental and academic fields.

### School Edition Success

The festival preview took place yesterday in the square in Pertosa, with a massive turnout. The event was attended by the mayor of Pertosa, Domenico Barba, and over 400 students from schools in various municipalities, including Pertosa, Auletta, Caggiano, Sala Consilina, Polla, San Giovanni a Piro, Scario, Caselle in Pittari, and Salerno. The students participated in shows, lectures, and workshops on the themes of water and the environment. The day concluded with a theatrical performance by artist Roberto Mercadini, who presented a monologue written specifically for Stillafest.

### Three days of events

The festival is now in full swing with three intense days of conferences, talks, lessons, artistic, musical and theatrical performances, all curated by Flavia D'Aiello. Exhibitions, guided tours and various activities are planned that will highlight the territory and the beauty of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park. Internationally renowned artists and scholars will gather for this traveling event, offering a rich and varied program.

### International Conferences

One of the festival's highlights will be the four international conferences held at the Soil Museum in Pertosa. On the first day, Friday, June 7th, the topics will be "Is Water Infinite? Challenges, Social, Health, and Environmental Impacts, for Protecting an Indispensable Resource" and "The Moist Nourishment of All Things. From Archaeological Foods to Novel Foods." On Saturday, June 8th, the conference entitled "The Drop That Loves the Rock" - The Diachronic Relationship Between Humans and Water from Prehistory to the Present Day will take place. The event will conclude on Sunday, June 9th with the conference entitled "The Ways of Water - Experiences, Innovations, Perspectives, and Projects for the Territory."
