Now in its second year, the musical festival "Sulle note del mare in Villa Doria d'Angri" returns this year, promoted by the University of Naples Parthenope in collaboration with the Ravello Foundation and the Banco di Napoli Foundation, and with the support of numerous Campanian entrepreneurs. The event, part of the "La musica UNIsce" project, aims to strengthen ties between the University, civil society, the business community, and the third sector and associations, contributing to the social and cultural growth of the region.
### A rich program of events
This year, too, a packed schedule of events will feature top-notch artists performing in the evocative setting of the neoclassical Villa Doria d'Angri, located on the Posillipo hill overlooking the sea. The 2023 edition will feature artists such as Danilo Rea, Peppe Servillo, Maurizio de Giovanni, and Marco Zurzolo, concluding in September with a concert by Gigi Finizio.
### Inauguration with Wagner Day
The opening night is scheduled for Monday, June 10 at 19:30 p.m., with a concert dedicated to Richard Wagner, who stayed and composed 'Parsifal' at Villa Doria d'Angri. Russian maestro Mzia Bachtouridze will accompany Russian soprano Maria Matolygina on the piano. Afterwards, French-Canadian pianist Louis Lortie will perform.
### Notes from the Rector
The Rector of Parthenope University, Prof. Antonio Garofalo, underlined: “After the success achieved last year, also this year the University is committing energy and passion to realize these musical events, because we are aware of the enormous responsibility that educational and cultural institutions have for the growth of the territory in which they are integrated. We try to give our contribution also in this way, opening the doors of the University to the city”.
### Visits to the Villa and the Naval Museum
During the evenings, all with admission by invitation, guests will also be able to visit the entire complex of the Monumental Villa, built at the behest of Prince Marcantonio Doria and completed in 1833. It will also be possible to access the Naval Museum, which houses approximately 160 static models of ships and educational nautical instruments dating back to 1920.
