“A city without barriers. A city for everyone, disabled and not”. This is the challenge launched by Teresa Manzo, former parliamentarian of the Five Star Movement, leader of the civic list Noi per Stabia.
"When we talk about a city that is on a human scale - we read in a note by Teresa Manzo - we mean a place in which the infrastructure and services offered are able to satisfy all human needs. From this point of view, any administrator will certainly want to create a place "on a man's or woman's scale".
But the difference between those who run to govern the city lies precisely in the concept of "woman or man" and humanity that each of us candidates wants to pursue.
For example, in Castellammare perhaps someone could say that for better or for worse the beaches, free or private, are accessible to everyone. So everyone, if they want, can go down to the sea. But that is not the case, because not all the beaches have access for the disabled, in some cases there are not even walkways to the shoreline and even the means of transport are not adequate”
.
“So today Castellammare di Stabia is not a city on a human scale – continues Teresa Manzo – With Louis Proximity Mayor and with “Noi per Stabia” no one will be in a position to feel like a second-class man or woman.
The Grande Stabia must be the city of all and for all, without any barrier, neither material nor ideological. The only handicap that makes someone different from another is the obscurantism created by the rigidity of one's own ignorance" concludes the former parliamentarian of the Five Star Movement.
