## Florence and Naples in the Renaissance: A Musical and Choreographic Journey to Capua

On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 19:00 PM, lovers of Renaissance music and dance will enjoy a unique experience at the Museo Provinciale Campano in Capua (CE). The event "Singing and Dancing in Courtly Florence and Naples in the Renaissance" will feature a free concert-show in a fascinating historical setting.

### The Concert

The vocal, instrumental, and ancient dance group "Ave Gratia Plena" will perform wearing costumes and using instruments faithfully reconstructed according to Renaissance models. The musical program features a selection of pieces performed in the courts of the Trastàmara family of Aragon, kings of Naples, and the Medici family of Florence between 1450 and 1500. Composers featured in the repertoire include illustrious names such as Busnois and Des Pres, as well as music from the Aragonese codex Montecassino 871 and carnival songs associated with Lorenzo de' Medici.

The concert will be held in the main courtyard of the Museo Provinciale Campano, located in Palazzo Antignano, a fine example of Campanian Renaissance architecture. Before the performance, the audience will be briefly introduced to the building's history and architectural features, further enriching the cultural experience.

### Renaissance Dances

In addition to musical performances, audiences will have the opportunity to witness Renaissance dances reconstructed according to period treatises written by illustrious choreographers and dancers such as Domenico da Piacenza and Guglielmo Ebreo da Pesaro. The latter, in particular, spent a significant period in Naples, leaving a profound mark on the development of dance practices.
