The Naples Assize Court has acquitted Adalgisa Gamba, the 42-year-old woman accused of the premeditated murder of her son, who drowned on January 2, 2022, in Torre del Greco, deeming her "unfit to understand and decide."
The child drowned in the sea near Scala; law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found the mother holding her son's lifeless body in her arms.
"Finally today the truth has been ascertained and the judges have accepted our requests", declared the lawyer Salvatore Del Giudice, the woman's defender.

The lawyer also stressed "the extraordinary work of the experts, both ours and the court's. Everyone agreed on the total insanity."
Her husband insulted her in the courtroom, shouting "Murderer."
During the reading of the sentence there were moments of tension in the courtroom, with the husband of Adalgisa Leg who verbally insulted her, calling her a "murderer." The situation was calmed by the police present.
