In a joint operation, Carabinieri officers from the local station and soldiers from the Naples Labor Inspectorate (Nil) conducted thorough inspections at several beach resorts in the city. The aim of the inspections was to combat undeclared work and ensure workplace safety.
The checks targeted four beach establishments and a restaurant located within one of them. A total of 41 workers were identified, including five undeclared workers at one of the inspected beaches. The other employees were found to be legally employed. Four business owners were reported following the irregularities discovered.
The violations contested by the Carabinieri and the Nil of Napoli These include failure to provide health surveillance and training on workplace safety. Criminal and administrative fines amount to approximately €64. At one of the beach establishments, the Carabinieri found a lack of minimum safety requirements, while at another, the work environment was found to be substandard. The Nil will take the necessary measures to address the violations identified.
