Fabio Cannavaro will not lead Udinese in the 2024/2025 season. The former Benevento coach, who led the Friulians to safety in Serie A, announced his decision on his social media channels: "President Pozzo informed me today of the company's decision not to continue our professional relationship."
"I thank him for the opportunity he's given me, and I'm sorry I can't continue this short but intense journey that, over the last month and a half of the championship, has led us to achieve such a great and exciting feat." In his message, Cannavaro he expressed his regret at not being able to continue the adventure in Friuli, highlighting the special bond created with the team and the fans.
"I want to clarify that I would have liked to continue this adventure in Friuli, a land that has entered my heart, as have its people, and for this reason I made myself available to the club unconditionally." Fabio Cannavaro's tenure as Udinese's coach was short but eventful, culminating in a last-gasp relegation battle.
