This morning, the Court of La Spezia acquitted twenty-five ultras of Spezia and thirty-six ultras of Napoli from all charges relating to the clashes occurred on May 22, 2022 during and after the Spezia-Napoli match, played at the “Alberto Picco” stadium. Judge Carolina Gagliano established in the pre-trial phase that there were not sufficient elements to proceed with the charges collected and presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The ultras from La Spezia, defended by the lawyers Massimo Lombardi and Filippo Vergassola, and fans Neapolitans had initially been investigated for crimes such as aggravated brawl, throwing dangerous objects, pitch invasion, disguise, violence and personal injury. However, the lack of concrete evidence also led to the revocation of the alternative rites requested by the lawyers of the two fan groups.
