Naples. Due to the great success of Michelangelo Pistoletto's work, which has become a landmark for national and international tourism, the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, has decided to extend the "Venus of the Rags"'s stay in Piazza Municipio for another two months.
The new "Venus", rebuilt after the fire that destroyed the previous work, was inaugurated on March 6th during the "Napoli Contemporanea" exhibition.
Its exhibition, initially scheduled for 3 and a half months, ending on June 19 and dismantling by the 26th, has been extended until August 19. From this date, the dismantling operations will proceed and will be concluded by August 26.
The work will then be moved to temporary storage, pending a permanent location. As announced during a joint press conference with the Mayor, Maestro Pistoletto has decided to donate the "Venus" to the city of Naples. Evaluations are currently underway to determine its permanent location.
