Tragedy struck this morning in Castelmassimo, a hamlet of Veroli, where a 40-year-old security guard shot and killed his 75-year-old grandfather and seriously injured his 54-year-old uncle. The murder occurred around 6:45 a.m. in their home, following a dispute over a parking space.

According to an initial reconstruction, the man, Alessandro Dell'Uomo, returned home after his work shift and found the road blocked by the parked cars of the Scaccia family.

From here a heated discussion would have arisen, also fueled by old grudges over land boundaries.

Dell'Uomo then allegedly pulled out his gun and shot him in the head. grandpaSilvio Scaccia, killing him instantly. He then turned the gun on his uncle, Mariano Scaccia, a lawyer, seriously wounding him in the side.

The intervention of the Carabinieri

After the shooting, Dell'Uomo fled with the intention of committing suicide, but was tracked down and arrested by the Carabinieri. He is currently being questioned at the police station, at the disposal of the Frosinone prosecutor.

The murder victim is Silvio Scaccia, a 75-year-old pensioner. His son Mariano, 47, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The Carabinieri of the Frosinone Company and the forensic team responded to the scene to conduct the necessary tests. The investigation is being led by Frosinone Deputy Prosecutor Vittorio Misiti.

Reasons still to be clarified

The reasons for the argument that led to the murder and the wounding are still unclear. It appears to have stemmed from a trivial disagreement over a parking space, but it's possible that old grudges between the two families were also at play.
