Naples. Footage from Mergellina video surveillance cameras has incriminated Francesco Pio Valda.
The 19-year-old from Barra is on trial because he is believed to be the murderer of the innocent pizza chef Francesco Pio Maimone. And this morning during the hearing, in courtroom 115 of the New Palace of Justice, investigators were heard and videos were shown that allowed the entire story to be reconstructed: from the origin of the fight, to the murder and the escape of the alleged perpetrator aided by his friends.

From the images shown in court, Francesco Pio Valda can be seen moving away from the Mergellina chalet area a few seconds after the fight and shooting, holding his arm outstretched downwards, as if he had something in his hands, which he then hands to one of the women who loads it into the car, an object which then, again according to what emerges from the images, is placed in the vehicle, a Fiat 500.
It should be the gun later hidden by her grandmother Giuseppina Niglio, arrested last October together with five other accomplices including Giusy Valda, sister of Francesco Pio.
During today's hearing, the web patrolling work carried out by the men of the Naples mobile squad was also analyzed, thanks to which the skirmishes between the two groups of young people who faced each other that tragic night in Mergellina emerged.
On one side the baby camorristi of the Valda and Aprea families of Barra and the boys from the Traiano district and the Soccavo neighborhood. And among these the famous challenge post culminated in “Where you want, when you want with your rules. Barra Regna Aprea Valda”.
and then the messages of solidarity after the arrest of Francesco Pio Valda and one with the writing: "let's toast to life imprisonment".
