Vincenzo Italiano is the new coach of Bologna. The former Fiorentina manager, after careful consideration, partly due to the disappointment of losing the Conference League final to Olympiacos, has accepted the club's offer, signing a two-year contract.
Italiano, fresh from three seasons at the helm of Fiorentina, has proven himself to be a highly talented coach, capable of developing young players and giving his team a clear identity. It was precisely this approach to football that convinced Bologna's management to choose him to help turn the Rossoblu's coaching project around.
Despite the disappointment of having just lost the European final, Italiano has shown that he has the grit and determination to restart with enthusiasm and bring Bologna back to compete at the top of Serie A.
Italian will lead to Bologna his playing philosophy based on ball possession and high pressing, a modern and spectacular style of football that has already won over the Viola fans.
