The works have begun on cleaning and removal of the invasive vegetation that surrounds the archaeological artefact Red Bridges, preliminary operation to the subsequent restoration of the site.
This intervention is part of the projects included in the Strategic Plan of the Metropolitan City of Napoli, with a total investment of 1,8 million euros.The project attracted the attention of the metropolitan councilors Antonio Caiazzo (Strategic Plan), Antonio Sabino (Heritage) and Salvatore Flocco (Civil Protection). Flocco, together with the president of the Third Municipality Fabio Greco and the councilors Regina Aluzzi and Gabriele Petagna, was present on site, supervising the operations and collaborating with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Municipality of Naples.
To ensure safety during the works, the Municipality of Napoli has prepared a specific traffic plan. The vegetation removal phase will last seven days, while the entire operation, which includes survey, survey and excavation activities, will last a total of 60 days. The operations will be conducted by a specialized company, using a self-propelled platform with a telescopic arm. To minimize the impact on pedestrian and vehicular traffic, the survey and investigation activities will be carried out mainly at night.
