Naples. No agreement reached during today's meeting at the cemetery offices of Santa Maria del Pianto in Naples, for the 17 gravediggers of lot 2 employed at the 'Cimitero Nuovo'.

Reduced hours and wages at risk: workers are protesting the decision of the new company, Barbara B, to cut their working hours from 36 to 20 per week, with heavy repercussions on their wages.
Protests underway: yesterday the gravediggers had already demonstrated in Piazza Municipio, today they blocked cemetery operations, causing inconvenience to citizens.
Three exhumations were postponed and the ashes from the crematoria could not be placed.
Inconvenience for citizens: Trade unionists Annibale De Bisogno of Uil and Agostino Anselmi of Cisl, while apologizing for the inconvenience caused, announce that the protest will continue with pickets both in front of the Town Hall and Palazzo San Giacomo.
