Ancient Scenarios: the 6th edition of the Flegrean Festival of Art in Motion is underway

Dal 10 luglio 2024 si svolgeranno eventi di danza, musica e narrazione in cinque straordinari luoghi incontaminati del territorio flegreo.

In collaboration with the Archaeological Park of the Phlegraean Fields and the Regional Park Authority of the Phlegraean Fields, the summer festival aims to promote live performing arts on the natural and architectural stage of the archaeological heritage of the Phlegraean Fields, through the sharing of theatrical, performative and musical moments that aim to evoke ancient scenarios even in an imperceptible and subtle way.

The aim of the Festival is, as always, to connect common goods and cultural activities with the precise aim of enhancing the artistic and cultural heritage of our land and, not by chance, the shows are created with an environmental impact reduced to the bare minimum, all with natural light and with performance times appropriate to the site that hosts them.

Start of the Festival

The Festival begins this evening, Wednesday, July 10, at the Liternum Archaeological Park, at 19:30 p.m., with the Atacama Company in “Lost Solos.” ​​This is a dance show that features solitary figures similar to birds off course, far from their natural habitat. “Lost Solos” questions how these beings got so far and is a reflection on inner orientation and mutation.

Upcoming events

The next appointment will be Friday 12 July 2024, at the Archaeological Excavations of Cuma, at 18:30 pm, with the CON.COR.DA / Movimentoinactor Company in “The Minotaur, Ariadne and the Labyrinth”. This representation, influenced by the story “The Minotaur” by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, explores the dynamics of monstrosity and normality through the mythological figure of the Minotaur, the labyrinth and the characters of Theseus and Ariadne.

Details and Accessibility

Each show has a different cost and access method. “Lost Solos” at the Liternum Archaeological Park provides free admission with a request for a voluntary contribution, while “The Minotaur, Arianna and the Labyrinth” at the Cuma Archaeological Excavations will require an entrance ticket, available at a totem on site.
