Until July 31, the Amphitheatre of Santa Maria Capua Vetere will host the tenth edition of the Arena Spartacus Festival, a week of events under the stars dedicated to “Myth, sounds and visions”. This festival, originally born as a Literature Festival in 2015, is now a Festival of the Arts of the Show, with sections dedicated to music, cinema and theatre, curated respectively by Roberto Conte, Donato Cutolo and Maurizio Zarzaca. Music and Theatre at the Arena Spartacus Festival
The festival opens on July 25 with Buscadero Day, featuring Scarlett Rivera, Bob Dylan’s historic violinist, and Violante Placido. Two musical events will follow: the funky soul of the Nigri Trio on July 27 and a jazz version of Neapolitan music hits on July 31. As for theater, on July 30 Stefania Iaderosa will present a passionate monologue based on the rewriting of Nanà.
Special Movie Nights
The film section of the festival, dedicated to the relationship between cinema and memory, opens on July 26 with “Pink Floyd – The Wall” by Alan Parker. On July 28, the special evening “Giancarlo’s lesson is still alive” will be dedicated to Giancarlo Siani, with the screening of “Fortapàsc” by Marco Risi. On July 29, the evening “Massimo’s heart is still alive” will commemorate Massimo Troisi, with the screening of his latest film “Il Postino” and the presentation of the volume by Irene Cocco.

All the festival shows are accessible with popular prices (15 euros for concerts and theater shows). The restaurant “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus” offers entirely organic and biodynamic menus, and will be open before, during and after the shows.
