The Campania Region today approved the 2023 financial statements of EAV, the regional public transport company, which show a profit of approximately €2,5 million, "further strengthening the company's net equity and therefore its value, which increased from €10 million to €161 million between 2015 and 2023," a statement from EAV states. The sole shareholder, the Campania Region, confirmed the current board of directors with Umberto De Gregorio as president.
“I thank the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca of the trust once again granted. During our management – says De Gregorio – we have maintained the commitment to keep the company in economic and financial equilibrium, after the rescue that took place at the end of 2016. In the period 2011-2016 the company recorded losses in the balance sheet for a total of 315 million euros. In the years 2016-2023 it recorded profits in the balance sheet for approximately 100 million euros.
This capital strengthening has allowed us to continue with the investment plan of approximately 5 billion euros with 81 construction sites open to date for a total renewal of the railway infrastructure and the train fleet. A complex job that, despite a thousand problems, we will continue to carry forward with the strategic contribution of the partner, the workers, the unions and all the actors in the process”, concludes De Gregorio.
