Casaluce. The Marcianise Forestry Carabinieri, together with veterinarians from the Caserta Local Health Authority, discovered and seized an illegal dairy farm in Casaluce during an inspection of a sheep and goat farm.

The farm, which has over 500 heads of sheep, lambs and goats, was authorized exclusively for meat production. However, during the check, the Carabinieri found several dirty milk buckets nearby, presumably used to store the milk from the animals.

Following the trail of the milk, the soldiers identified a nearby building from which a stream of whitish substance and a strong odor of dairy products were coming out.

Inside the premises, they found various equipment for the production of cheese, including a container with 30 litres of milk, maturing tables, scales, ricotta moulds, a gas stove, packaging containers and a refrigerator with approximately 4 kg of cheese of various shapes.

Additionally, a diary containing orders of cheese intended for sale was found.

The inspection also revealed that liquid waste from cheese production (whey and equipment washing wastewater) was being illegally disposed of in a well connected to the public sewer.

In light of these serious violations, the Carabinieri Forestale seized the illegal dairy and reported both the owner of the farm (because he was not authorised to produce milk) and the manager of the dairy at large. dairy for illegal management of liquid waste and hygiene deficiencies.

Operation to protect public health and the environment

This intervention by the Carabinieri Forestale demonstrates the constant commitment to ensuring food safety, environmental protection and the health of citizens.

The production and sale of dairy products without authorization and in compliance with health and hygiene regulations represent a danger to public health and damage to the environment. The action of the Carabinieri Forestale aims to combat such illegal phenomena and protect consumers.
