Castellammare. During recent checks, by the Carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia company, the military discovered and reported two separate cases of crimes.
A woman was reported for electricity theft, while a 40-year-old man was charged with illegal possession of animals protected under the Washington Convention.
The Carabinieri have identified a woman responsible for electricity theft. The investigation was launched after anomalous readings on energy meters led to the discovery of the crime.
The woman was immediately reported to the competent judicial authority.
Illegal possession of protected animals
At the same time, another serious environmental crime emerged during the checks. A 40-year-old man was reported for illegally keeping animals protected by the Washington Convention. The Carabinieri found several animal species that are protected by international regulations on his property.
There are also two fawns and a deer on the farm
On the 40-year-old's property, several protected tortoises were found, as well as two ponies, two fawns and a deer. In addition to these protected animals, numerous other farm animals were also found.
The presence of these species indicated by the Washington Convention, which aims to regulate and protect wild fauna, has further aggravated the situation of man.
