This is the outcome of the joint operation of the Local Police, Carabinieri and the Port Authority of Castellammare di Stabia who, on the morning of Wednesday 3 July, intervened along the stretch of free beach. Specifically, in Traversa Cantiere Mercantile, inside a state-owned premises acquired by the municipal heritage, 88 aluminum sun loungers were found, left there by unknown persons and probably intended for rental by bathers.
Furthermore, two citizens of Castellammare di Stabia, already known to the police, were caught while illegally renting beach equipment along via De Gasperi. Both were fined five thousand euros each and their equipment was seized. Control operations against illegal operators will continue in the coming days.
I thank the Local Police, the Carabinieri and the Port Authority for their commitment and dedication. The protection of our coastline is essential to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens and tourists. We will continue to intensify controls to ensure compliance with the rules and protect our coastline,” said Luigi Vicinanza, mayor of Castellammare di Stabia.
