Pannarano. Behind the tragedy of Pannarano, where a 57-year-old man killed his 70-year-old older brother, beheading him, in addition to cohabitation problems there would also be religious reasons.
The two brothers, Annibale and Benito Miarelli, had been living together for about 6 months in the family home on Via Piano, after Annibale's return from Rome.
According to initial reports, the two had a violent argument, likely due to their cohabitation. Benito, who had previously had alcohol problems and had been treated by social services, then attacked his brother in his sleep, strangling him and decapitating him.
The horror was completed by the act of throwing the head out the window.
The Carabinieri, alerted by neighbors, arrived on the scene and found Annibale's lifeless body on the bed, with Benito in a state of shock. The man, unresisting, confessed to the crime and was arrested for voluntary manslaughter.
The Pannarano community is shocked by this brutal crime. The 57-year-old was known for his troubles, but no one ever imagined he would get this far.
Motive still to be clarified
The precise motive for the murder remains unclear. Investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri and the Benevento Prosecutor's Office, are ongoing to reconstruct the facts in detail and determine the circumstances of the fratricide.
