A visit to Italy turned into a nightmare for a foreign tourist when his valuable Rolex watch was stolen. Now, thanks to the effective work of the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Guardia di Finanza of Naples in combating illicit trafficking, the owner has been able to recover his property.
In the last few days, during the normal checks at the airport of Capodichino, several luxury goods were seized, including several Rolex watches. Subsequent investigations revealed that one of the seized watches was the proceeds of a theft that had occurred some time ago. By further investigating, the authorities were able to trace the rightful owner, a foreign citizen whose identity and nationality were not disclosed for privacy reasons.
Returning the watch was a very emotional moment. “The owner, visibly moved – the Customs and Monopolies Agency explained in a note – in complimenting the officials, expressed great happiness because the watch represented a dear family memory”.
