Sirignano. A theft of computers and tablets was foiled this morning at the Comprehensive Institute “Alessandro Manzoni” in Sirignano, thanks to the timely intervention of the Carabinieri.
The criminals, who entered the school building after forcing the entrance door with a crowbar, set off the burglar alarm which immediately alerted the Carabinieri of Baiano and Lauro.
Surprised by the arrival of the police, the thieves were forced to flee hastily, abandoning the stolen goods on the spot: 29 notebooks, 11 of which were still in their packaging, and 5 tablets taken from the classrooms.
During the inspection operations, the Carabinieri found and seized some burglary tools, a torch and a bag used by the criminals for the theft.
The timely intervention of the Carabinieri allowed to avoid a huge economic damage for the school and to recover the precious teaching tools. Investigations are ongoing to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the attempted theft.
