The "Shakespearean Days" will kick off with William Shakespeare's celebrated tragedy "Romeo and Juliet," composed between 1594 and 1596. This mini-theater festival, consisting of four events, will feature four Salerno companies performing performances dedicated to the English playwright and poet. Two of the performances will be included in the "Villa Guariglia Summer Concerts" program. Under the artistic direction of Antonello Ronga, the events will be free and will be held on July 13th and 14th at Villa Guariglia, Raito di Vietri sul Mare.

Romeo and Juliet: The Tragic Love

On July 13, at 21 pm, the Artenauta Teatro theatre workshop, directed by Simona Tortora, will present “Romeo and Juliet”. This Shakespearean classic explores universal themes such as thwarted love, possession, hate, revenge and death. The production involves young actors between the ages of 14 and 19, who address issues that are still relevant through a dramatic rewriting of the text. Director Simona Tortora offers a new interpretation of the tragedy, forcefully expressing the questions and emotions that it brings with it.

Shakespeare Revolution: A Generational Challenge

The festival continues on July 14, again at 21:XNUMX p.m., with the presentation of “Shakespeare Revolution” by the Toy Company, written and directed by Gianni D'Amato. This show represents a challenge: to make Shakespeare more accessible and relevant for the new generations. Set against the backdrop of a war (which, in recent times, resonates closer than ever), the show reflects on the anxieties and fears of a group of teenagers. These young protagonists express their thoughts using the immortal words of the greatest playwright of all time, moving in a timeless context.

Don't miss the chance to attend these unique events for free at Villa Guariglia, in the suggestive setting of Raito di Vietri sul Mare, on July 13 and 14 at 21 pm.
