Driving a stolen car, he endangered the lives of several passers-by with risky maneuvers and sudden acceleration, before smashing the supermarket window, terrorizing the customers who had taken refuge inside.
The man, with no criminal record, then attempted to escape, but the Carabinieri of the Caivano company immediately intervened, starting the investigations.
Having traced the stolen car, parked on Viale della Rimembranza, the military identified the 34-year-old as he was climbing the scaffolding of a building under renovation nearby.
Having barricaded himself on the third floor of an uninhabited apartment, the man refused any contact with the Carabinieri, who however did not give up. Having climbed onto the scaffolding, they reached him and arrested him.
The 34-year-old Ghanaian , charged with criminal damage and receiving stolen goods, was taken to prison. A bizarre incident that put the safety of several people at risk, but which, thanks to the timely intervention of the Carabinieri, had a happy ending.
