Naples. A dramatic turn of events in the trial for the double murder of Antonio Pastella and Salvatore Vigna, which occurred in Marano in 2015.
The Court of Appeal of Naples (VIII Section, Panel F, presided over by Dr. Vito Maria Giorgio Purcaro) has annulled the precautionary custody order for leading members of the Orlando and Polverino clans, believed to be the instigators and material perpetrators of the brutal crime.
Batter and Vigna were killed within a few weeks of each other, victims - according to the statements of collaborators of justice Giuseppe Simioli, Giuseppe Ruggiero and Teodoro Giannuzzi - of an internal feud within the Camorra.
The motive? Their move to the group of the emerging secessionist Mario Riccio, a move that would have unleashed the fury of the Orlando and Polverino clans.
