Naples. Weekend of intense police checks in the areas most crowded with tourists, young people and swimmers.
Last weekend, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid, with the assistance of local police personnel, carried out checks in the nightlife area of the "chalets" of Mergellina and in Largo Sermoneta.
The intensive checks led to the identification of 518 people, 127 of whom had previous police records, 142 vehicles were checked, and 6 violations of the Highway Code were reported.
The checks, ordered by the Naples Police Chief, will continue throughout the summer, with particular attention paid to weekends.
