Naples. Yesterday evening, a deputy sergeant from the Varcaturo station, off duty, arrested a woman who had just snatched the cell phone from an employee of a pizzeria in the Spanish Quarters.
It was around 21:00 PM when the pizzeria employee, screaming desperately, attracted the attention of passersby on Via Speranzella. She had just been robbed of her smartphone by a woman who then fled.
The intervention of the vice brigadier
The deputy sergeant, who was in the area with his family for dinner, heard the woman's screams and, realizing what had happened, started chasing the thief.

After a short run of about a hundred meters, the carabiniere reached the woman, identified as Raffaella Esposito 52 years old, who still had the stolen cell phone with him.
The thief chased and arrested after 100 meters
With the assistance of a patrol from the PMZ Centro, the deputy sergeant arrested Esposito for snatching theft. She is now awaiting trial.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the carabineer, the victim was able to get his cell phone back. The carabiniere, however, had to give up his dinner which inevitably got cold.
