Carabinieri officers from the Marano di Napoli company's operations unit conducted an anti-drug raid overnight. The officers, along with the Sarno Carabinieri canine unit, raided an illegal residence on Via Danubio. The building, equipped with a video intercom and a sophisticated video surveillance system, was the scene of the operation.
Inside the apartment, Vincenzo Busiello, 42 years old, and Rita Leone, 30 years old, both of Sant'Antimo and already known to the police. Before the search, the suspects had sold several doses of crack to customers.
During the search, the carabinieri found and seized other doses of crack and 400 euros in cash, proceeds of the illegal activity. The arrested were transferred to prison and are now awaiting trial.
