The military personnel of the Naval Air Operations Department of Napoli hanno sequestrato due piantagioni di marijuana in the municipality of Mondragone nell’ambito della campagna di ricerca piantagioni di stupefacenti 2024.
L’operazione è stata avviata dopo una meticolosa attività di osservazione eseguita dagli elicotteri della Sezione Aerea. Grazie a questa sorveglianza, sono stati individuati terreni demaniali adibiti alla coltivazione illecita e tre responsabili sono stati sorpresi in flagranza di reato.The operation, carried out in collaboration with the military of the Mondragone Company, saw the criminals attempt to escape into the fields, but were promptly stopped. The actual precautionary measures led to the seizure of approximately 2500 kg of narcotic substance, of which 1100 kg were already dried and ready for packaging, in addition to two greenhouses and the equipment used for production. The value of the product on the market could have been worth up to 10 million euros.
The Public Prosecutor's Office Santa Maria Capua Vetere, who coordinated the operation, ordered the destruction of the seized substance on site. The three arrested will have to answer for criminal association aimed at the production, possession and trafficking of narcotics.
In the coming weeks, the Naples Naval Air Operations Department will intensify monitoring of the territory. The favorable summer weather conditions in fact allow for rapid growth of plants, offering criminal groups the opportunity to increase profits with greater quantities of drugs on the market.
