Naples. Police are investigating the shooting of Andrea Pillo, a 43-year-old local resident, who was shot in the leg yesterday afternoon on Via Michele Tenore, near the Botanical Gardens.
The man was near his home with his wife when he felt a strong burning pain in his right ankle and realized he was losing blood.
Several people immediately rushed to help him and transport him to Pellegrini Hospital. Doctors diagnosed a gunshot wound and estimated a prognosis of approximately 20 days.

The investigation is being conducted by the State Police. The exact circumstances of the incident are still unclear. Three 7,65 caliber shell casings were found at the scene of the attack.

The robbery lead is currently excluded. The victim's profile, uncensored and with no ties to crime, it does not suggest an ambush or intimidation. And mistaken identity or a personal issue cannot be ruled out.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area and awaiting the results of the investigation to build a clearer picture of what happened.
