The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has adopted eleven new prohibitive measures against as many companies operating in the funeral services and construction and real estate sectors. The companies involved have their registered offices in the municipalities of Boscotrecase, Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco and Pomigliano d'Arco.
In an official note, the Prefecture of Naples has underlined how these measures are part of a broader anti-mafia prevention effort, conducted with the support of the Police Force and the Investigative Division Anti-mafia. “The fight against infiltration by organised crime and the protection of the legal economy are constantly ensured through the exercise of the powers of the Prefect,” reads the press release.
These measures are not the only measure available to the Prefect to combat mafia activities. The Prefecture can also intervene through inspections of public works construction sites and through the signing of legality protocols. “The complex activity carried out in this area is aimed at safeguarding economic public order, protecting free competition between businesses and ensuring the proper functioning of the Public Administration,” continues the note.
